[Dots Per Inch]

DPI is a measurement used when refering to the resolution, or the sharpness, of an image. It measures the amount of dots that are in one inch of an image. If an image has a high dpi, it is very crisp.

It is also used when talking about the resolution of a printer or a scanner, and the higher the dpi, the higher the quality of the printer or scanner.
