Resolution

There are 2 definitions for the term resolution.

The first referes to the number of pixels on the screen, and is measured horizontally versus vertically. Pixels are not set, and can always change, whereas the dots on the screen are set and is constant. The pixels are equal to the dots at maximum resolution for the monitor.

The second definition refers to the sharpness of an image, by examining the the number of dots per inch.
